Mission

The idea to create this website was born because during my long history as a laboratory gemologist, I was often approached to answer questions from other gemmologists about subjects that are not covered in traditional gemmological courses. These questions are often related to practical work in a laboratory. Finding the right gemmological instruments are also an area where the gemologist is often lost .

In addition, there are always situations when a gemstone company requires the help of a gemologist for a certain time limited task.

This website is intended to consolidate such information and offer help where needed.

My services are designed to help members of gemmological laboratories as well as members of the trade by:

  • giving support with specialized gemmological training
  • offering onsite services for testing, sorting, data acquisition and evaluation
  • offering an online service for data evaluation and interpretation.

A list of references as well as some practical hints will also be featured on the website from time to time.

Consultation hotline (in preparation):

Special attention is given to gemmological questions that occur in daily gemstone testing, such as interpretation of certain inclusions or spectra, but also some historical issues, e.g., from what time on certain treatments or origins existed. This section is separated in a public Question and Answer part, but a chat function for more specific questions that is more private is also available.
